I'm sorry to hear that. It's frustrating when clinicians don't consider a patient's goals and values or acknowledge multiple alternatives. Have you consulted another physician or attended physical therapy? It's often helpful to get multiple opinions. A throrough and progressive bout of exercise rehabilitation can often prevent surgery. Even if it doesn't, the prehab will improve post-surgical recovery.
