I do this far too often. I have started to become more comfortable with ditching books but the sunk cost fallacy of invested time and money (more so time) hits me.

I like the suggestions of writing reviews and making a deadline. I often write short reviews and copy information into my commonplace books, but I think I would benefit from writing more details.
