The After (author’s picture)

So, let’s get this out of the way early…my planning can sometimes be subpar. As you read through this post you will likely be thinking “wow this is a great idea and a great plan! I can’t wait to…hold one…where are the pictures?”

Yes, I have failed to take pictures along the way and thus only have a finished product to show. Have no fear, I have included the link to a fantastic video with step-by-step instruction (it is the one I used). I scoured the internet (and by that, I mean my wife did) and found multiple options and felt this was the best.

Quick disclaimer, it is the most involved of the plans I/Lindsay viewed, but it also gives the best-finished product. I will provide insightful (and occasionally hilarious) commentary, tips, and areas that I was less than perfect for you to learn from along the way.

With respect to tools and materials, I used everything in the video (with the exception of the miter saw). I used the table saw for all my cuts and was able to still make cuts at a 45-degree angle.
