Books provide entertainment and can help with mental health, but if you want to learn from them, it takes effort. I found my retention skyrocketed once I started marking my books and using a commonplace books.
I like the advice you gave and find choosing books I want to read rather than what others tell me I must read is helpful. Do you have strategies for retaining the information you read?
